Chesterfield have announced the signing of Alex Whittle.
The left-back was confirmed earlier this week as leaving Gloucester City. He had joined the current National League North leaders ahead of this season, signing at the time for now-Chesterfield boss James Rowe.
The pair are now reunited at the National League Spireites, with Whittle signing an 18-month contract. Rowe told the club’s website:
“Once I knew of Alex’s availability, we moved quickly to secure his signature. It is important to build for the future and not just the short-term.
“Alex has great energy and his strong character will fit in well in the changing room.”
