Chesterfield have signed Grantham Town striker Lee Shaw.
The 24-year-old had scored 33 goals last season for Grantham, with his 29 in the Evo-Stik Premier putting him second only to Buxton’s Liam Hardy. Shaw had been on trial at League Two Lincoln City, who were said to have offered him a contract, but with Chesterfield making their offer first thing on Sunday morning, Shaw opted to realise his full-time ambition with the Spireites.
Martin Allen revealed last night that Shaw has signed a two-year contract with a one-year option. The former Harrowby United player handed in his notice at his factory job on Monday morning.
