Chesterfield have signed Torquay United defender Fraser Kerr.
The former Gateshead and Hartlepool United man has joined the Spireites on a deal until the end of the season.
Torquay manager Gary Johnson explained to the club’s website: “Unfortunately, due to the COVID lockdown rules, and Fraser living in the digs, he wasn’t able to go home and see his family. With him not being involved in the first team at that time, we agreed to let him go to a club a lot nearer to his home.
“We enquired about Scott Boden, and I’m pleased to say we managed to do deals for both players, and it’s a good situation for both players.”
On signing the 28-year-old Scot, Chesterfield boss James Rowe told their website: “I’ve followed Fraser for quite some time and his attributes fit into the way we are trying to move forward.
“He is a great addition to our squad and strengthens us for what will be a busy fixture schedule until the end of the season.”
