Following the recent announcement of intermediary fees paid out by clubs, company secretary Ashley Carson confirmed that the figure produced for Chesterfield FC of £72,943 was correct.
The fees paid from February 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019 relate to a total of 21 player signings and one manager.
The players concerned are: Alex Whitmore, Mathew Briggs, Joe Anyon, Gary Liddle, Dylan Mottley-Henry, George Smith, Michael Nelson, Kristian Dennis, Will Evans, Scott Wiseman, Jak McCourt, Shwan Jalal, Zavon Hines, Louis Dodds, Drew Talbot, Lee Shaw, Josh Kay, Gozie Ugwu, Jerome Binnom-Williams, Levi Amantchi and Laurence Maguire.
Carson said: “Rarely can you sign a player without dealing with an intermediary working on the player’s behalf. Chesterfield Football Club takes a very robust approach and will only pay basic fees.
“Whilst I am not prepared to divulge each individual transaction, I can say that the majority of fees paid are less than £2,000 a player.
“The highest fees paid out were to Kristian Dennis’s representative for the sale of him to Notts County and to Louis Dodds’ representative.
“In addition a very small administration fee was paid to John Sheridan’s representative.”
Carson also confirmed that no payments were made to Guy Branston as part of any deals to bring players to the club when he was director of recruitment and development.
