After Chesterfield’s 5-1 defeat at home to Hartlepool United, manager John Sheridan gave an honest assessment of his side’s performance.
He said: “It’s very hard to explain. Hartlepool have come and totally outplayed us, out-bossed us and passed us to death.
“I’ll hold my hands up. I don’t like the result and I don’t like the way we played. I’ve just got to be as strong as I can because it’s so difficult for the people who are paying good money to watch us at the moment.
“I’d have to say as a manager it’s one of the worst losses I have had.”
