Basford United manager Steve Chettle has said his side will focus all energy on their upcoming FA Trophy game with Felixstowe & Walton United.

The Northern Premier Division side will host the second round game, which has now been brought forward from Tuesday 15th December to this Saturday (12th). The change of date was explained by Basford:

“In the spirit of the game, we felt unfair for our opponents to make a long trip midweek, and have therefore taken the decision to move the game.”

Hitchin Town or Peterborough Sports await the winner in the third round, and Nottingham Forest legend Chettle told Basford’s website: “We will do our research on Felixstowe in the build-up to the game and be ready for it.

“The FA Trophy is the only guaranteed fixture that we have at present and all of our energy will be put into the preparation and game to hopefully be able to progress in the competition.”
