Jake Cottrell has agreed a new deal to remain with Chorley until the end of the 2016/17 season.
The Magpies recently received an approach for the midfielder from a rival National League North side. However, in a show of loyalty to Chorley, Cottrell rejected the opportunity to move and instead agreed to sign a new contract.
“Three-lungs” as his is affectionately known for his all action style, joined the Magpies from FC United of Manchester in the summer of 2013 and is a firm crowd favourite. Never one to shy from a challenge or coast through a game, he has been a key performer ever since first donning our famous black & white stripes
This news will be a massive boost to everyone at Chorley, following from the disappointment of losing Josh Hine’s to Salford City for an undisclosed fee earlier this week.
