Goalkeeper Joe Anyon is the latest capture for Chorley as Jamie Vermiglio looks to round out his squad ahead of the season opener with Bromley at Victory Park on Saturday.
The experienced custodian was a trialist during pre-season and adds competition for places while number one Matt Urwin recovers from injury.
Anyon said: “I’m really excited to be here and I’m really looking forward to the season starting and being able to help the team. It’s great to be part of a successful squad and the challenge and opportunities playing in the National League bring are very exciting.”
Anyon began his career at Blackburn Rovers before making a name for himself with Port Vale. Further Football League stops followed at Lincoln City, Shrewsbury Town, Scunthorpe United and Chesterfield.
Manager Jamie Vermiglio said: “With Matty’s injury requiring an operation it was important for us to bring in a goalkeeper that has plenty of experience and is a commanding presence. Joe’s a good character and is a welcome addition to the squad. Along with Danny Eccles, we have good options going into the season.”
