Three non-league sides have booked their place in the third round of this season’s FA Cup, with one more still to join them.
Monday night sees Canvey Island host Boreham Wood, meaning there is guaranteed to be a fourth club from non-league in the third round.
Chorley were the biggest headline-makers at the weekend, as the National League North side followed up their victory over Wigan Athletic in the first round with a 2-1 comeback win at Peterborough United. Jamie Vermiglio’s team have made history as the first Chorley side to make it beyond round two.
In the all-National League fixture, Stockport County were 3-2 winners after extra-time against Yeovil Town at Edgeley Park.
Marine, meanwhile, beat Havant & Waterlooville 1-0 with a last-gasp extra-time goal from Niall Cummins.
