Chorley have signed former Stockport County midfielder Sam Walker.

Walker was announced as leaving County in mid-July, having had three seasons with the Edgeley Park side.

Last month, he was confirmed as a new signing for Tim Flowers at Macclesfield Town, just prior to the Cheshire club being wound up.

On joining Chorley, Walker told the club’s website: “I’m delighted to have joined Chorley, a club I’m very familiar with, having played as a visiting player over a number of years. Victory Park has always been a difficult place for away teams to get results and I hope that continues this season.

“I had a few offers from clubs after the unfortunate situation at Macclesfield, but after I spoke to the gaffer and he outlined his plans for the season, the move really appealed to me.”
