Chelmsford City have received international clearance and are now able to sign goalkeeper Colan Balkwell.
The 22-year-old has been playing in the United States for Saint Rose, a university side from Albany, New York.
He moved to Saint Rose from SUNY Oneonta three years ago.
He was a highly-rated junior with SUNY.
Balkwell appeared in several pre-season friendlies for the Clarets, who were impressed enough to offer him a deal to be back-up to Joe Welch at the Melbourne Stadium.
