New Chelmsford City signing Scott Davies is already looking forward to starting his City career.

The former Reading youth product counts the Clarets as his thirteenth career Club. Having started his career with the Royals at the Madejski stadium, the 29-year-old has since featured for Aldershot Town, Crawley Town and Yeovil.chelmsford
But since signing a deal with the Essex side, Davies has spoken of his pleasure at becoming Rod Stringer’s first signing of the summer.

“I’m delighted to have signed for Chelmsford City.” he said.

“A club I regard as one of the biggest clubs in this league with huge potential to succeed. That statement for me probably answers all the questions as to why I decided to join.

“At 29 I’m not getting any younger and want to try and really achieve something in the time I have left, and it felt as though under Rod’s leadership this was the place for me to be. I’d spoken to Rod over the past 18 months but we just couldn’t get a deal done, that would fit in and around work.
“At this level it’s difficult, but now I’ve managed to complete my degree I’m at a different stage in my life where it gives me more freedom to apply more attention to my football yet again. It’s been difficult juggling the two but for now I want to make it a memorable season, not only for myself but for the staff, players and fans at the club. If I can play a part in that, then fantastic. I’ll give my all each time I play and try to create as much as I can going forward to provide opportunities for the front players. That’s me to a tee really!

“But I’m excited to get started and feel very fortunate to be joining a club who have everything in place to go to the next level. It won’t be easy but I’m sure we’ll be ready.”
