Ashley Miller has become the latest signing for Chelmsford City after the defender agreed terms to re-join the Clarets from Vanarama National League South rivals Bishop’s Stortford.
The 26-year-old returns to Melbourne Park having previously been signed by former boss
Mark Hawkes at the beginning of last season.
Despite featuring in a handful of pre-season matches the right-back failed to make an appearance for City in a competitive match, citing personal reasons for his omission.
After severing ties with the club, Miller spent some time at East Thurrock United before returning to Stortford and new Clarets boss, Rod Stringer.
Miller was a favourite of Stringer’s during his time as Stortford manager, winning the managers` and players` player of the year awards at the end of the 2014/15 season.
The return of Miller brings the squad numbers up to sixteen players either signed or retained from last season’s squad with over a month still to go until the Clarets’ first pre-season game against Heybridge Swifts on July 7th.
