Gateshead academy coach Ben Clark believes the professional deal for Nelson Ogbewe is just reward for the teenage forward.
The 18-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the National League North club, and Clark told the Heed’s website:
“His progression has been excellent, it’s been there for all to see and he’ll only get better with the management team that we’ve got.
“He’s done well in the FA Youth Cup, scored goals, and the manager watched him and liked what he saw.
“The hard work needs to start again for him now but we’re really excited and pleased for him.”
