Clipstone have announced the appointment of Dean Short as manager.

Last season, Short was in charge of Teversal and narrowly missed out on promotion. Club chairman, Richard Clarey said: “We are delighted to appoint Dean, he has a fantastic reputation and understands the ethos of our club.”

“He has a vision of success, knows what is required to do well and we will assist him as much as we can. Early talks have been positive and we look forward to a new era at Lido Ground.”

Short said: “A lot of the players already know me and those who don’t will soon realise that I am loyal, hard-working, straight-talking, thorough and whole-hearted in everything that I do.

“Steve Smith will be my assistant manager and I’m looking forward to working with him while Dean Mitchell will be joining the club too as a coach, we have worked together for a long-time and he has been instrumental in our success previously.”

“I’m looking forward to the new challenge. The hard work starts now, I want to get back on the training ground and go back to doing the basics well, let’s start enjoying football again with a smile on our faces, I’ve already set my individual targets for the second half of the season and so should the players, we have big local derbies coming up so we need to hit the ground running.”
