Clitheroe have announced the signing of forward Sefton Gonzales.

Gonzales has previously played for the club, during which time current Blues player-boss David Lynch was a teammate.

Lynch told Clitheroe’s website: “In my opinion, Sefton should be a Football League player with his attributes. He looks like he’s got the bit between his teeth in the two sessions he’s done with us.

“It’s a big signing for us. I think we can get the best out of him.”

The former South Shields man has represented a number of North West clubs in the past, including Stockport County, FC United and Colne.

He signed for Matlock Town last summer but would begin the season at Ramsbottom United.
