Clovis Kamdjo is set to end 14 months on the sidelines by playing for York City reserves at Grimsby on Tuesday.

The former Forest Green utility man suffered cruciate ligament damage during the 1-1 National League draw at Eastleigh back in November 2016. But he has now completed his rehabilitation programme and will make his return to action against the Mariners’ second string, with sporting director Dave Penney revealing: “He’s had the OK from the specialist and is back training with us.

“He will play in Tuesday’s reserve game at Grimsby, although probably just for 45 minutes and it might take him five to ten games to get him back right after the amount of time he’s been out.”
