Grimsby Town have signed Northampton Town left-back Evan Horwood on a loan deal until the end of the season.

He arrived at the Sixfields stadium in 2014 after a successful loan spell from Tranmere Rovers.

He began his career at Sheffield United in 2004 and after gaining experience on loan at Stockport County, York City, Chester, Darlington and Gretna he joined Carlisle United in 2007.

He spent two seasons with the Cumbrians before moving to hometown club Hartlepool United three years ago in 2010. After almost 150 appearances, he joined Tranmere in the summer of 2013.
