Bradford Park Avenue have signed pacey forward John Cofie on a month’s loan from National League side Southport.
Cofie, 23, joined Southport in the summer having impressed last term at AFC Telford United, where he scored on his debut with a fantastic lob against Avenue.
The Ghanaian-born forward came through the ranks at Burnley before earning a £1million move to Manchester United whilst still a youngster.
While at United, he played in an FA Youth Cup winning side which included Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard.
He spent time on loan at Royal Antwerp, Sheffield United and Notts County before his release from Old Trafford in 2013.
Unsuccessful spells at Barnsley, Molde, Crawley and Wrexham followed, where he made just three appearances combined, despite a successful loan spell at Molde 2, scoring five times in nine appearances.
Cofie joined Telford in January of this year and his pace impressed supporters, grabbing 4 goals in seventeen National League North appearances.
He has made eight appearances in the National League this season – just three from the start – failing to grab a goal so far.
