Colne manager Nathan Rooney has been named as Port Vale’s new head of coaching.
Rooney, who took over as Colne boss last May, will be continuing with the Reds.
The 31-year-old’s experience in the game includes coaching positions at Crawley Town, Carlisle United, Fleetwood Town and Blackburn Rovers.
Vale’s director of football David Flitcroft told the club’s website:
“We’ve been through a robust recruitment process and Nathan is a superb acquisition who will significantly bolster our coaching team.
“Having worked in both the league and non-league environments, Nathan’s knowledge of both development-level operations and senior football – alongside his ability to drive high standards on and off the field – marked him out as an outstanding candidate, and we are delighted to welcome him to the club.”
