Evo-Stik West Division club Colwyn Bay have today announced they have submitted their application to join the FAW pyramid for next season.

The North Wales club last week stated their intention to bid to rejoin the Welsh system in order to safeguard the club’s future. Chairman Bill Murray had said: “If we stay in England we won’t survive as a club.”

The Bay left Welsh football in 1984, joining Division Three of the North West Counties League in England, but have now formally applied to return. The club have released this statement this morning:

COLWYN BAY Football Club have today (11/03/2019) formally applied in writing to enter the FAW pyramid with the desire of participation in competitive league and cup competitions for season 2019/2020.

A further club statement in relation to this matter will follow once the application process has concluded and a decision by the FAW Council has been made.
