Stevenage midfielder Tom Conlon could be returning to the club after just one appearance on loan at Billericay Town.

The 22-year-old joined the Isthmian Premier League club on a 28-day loan last month and played 75 minutes in a 2-1 defeat to Folkestone Invicta. However, it looks set to be his only appearance for the non-league side.

Billericay head coach, Harry Wheeler, told the Southend Echo that Conlon has struggled to adapt to life with the Blues and talks for a return to Stevenage are taking place.

“Tom came in and he had a slight injury,” said Wheeler. “Some lads struggle to adapt to the mental side of things when it comes to non-league football.

“He is still around but we are in discussions with Stevenage about him potentially going back. Sometimes the style of play doesn’t suit a player and that is the way it is.”
