Corby Town have secured the services of defender Jamie Anton, after the defender returned to the club following a season with St Neots Town.
Anton was part of the Corby Town squad that won the Evo-Stik Southern Premier League championship in 2015/16, having joined the club in September 2014.
Anton is a central defender, who can also operate at right-back. He started his career at Leicester City as a 10-year-old, signing professional terms in June 2013 after completing a two-year apprenticeship at the club.
He was an inspirational captain of their Under 18 side that reached the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup in 2012/13, won the league with Steve Beaglehole’s Under 21’s and also played a key role in the team’s triumph in the Hong Kong Citibank Sevens tournament.
Corby Town manager Tommy Wright told corbytownfc.co.uk; “We are delighted to bring Jamie back to the club. He was a very important player for us when we won the Southern League and we rate him highly.
“He is still young and has great potential, but he has also has the experience of playing at this level now for a few seasons and knows what it’s all about.”
