AFC Totton have made a major statement for the upcoming Southern One West campaign by signing attacking midfielder Stuart Green from Salisbury.
The former Winchester City skipper arrives off the back of a promotion-winning season for the Whites in which he plundered 30 goals in all competitions to land the Wiltshire club’s Golden Boot.
Green, who also includes Bognor Regis Town and Moneyfields among his former clubs, will look forward to linking up again with Stags striker Craig Feeney with whom he established a great partnership during their time together at Winchester.
Stuart is a player everyone appreciates,” said Totton boss Louis Langdown. “His non-stop running, clever movement, linkup play and goals are just the minimum he brings.
“We are considered in our recruitment, there are enough players out there for every team.
We know everything about the player before we speak to them.
“Would Greener sign for us if it came down to money? Of course not, and we know that before any conversation happens. We will be out-bid constantly.
“So circumstances and homework on our part pays dividends. Greener is quite straightforward, he speaks his mind, he’s a local lad who’s about to start a family, he works in close proximity to the ground and wants to play a major role in our team. We are thrilled to get him over the line.”
