Coventry City have signed Mickleover Sports’ rookie defender Morgan Williams, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claim the Sky Blues have secured the well-regarded youngster to a contract after he impressed at Jamie Vardy’s V9 academy.
They report: “Williams, an 18-year-old defender who played for Mickleover Sports, had strong interest from St Mirren manager Alan Stubbs and Championship sides Sheffield United, West Brom and QPR.
“However, the enthusiasm of Coventry manger Mark Robins convinced Williams to join the newly promoted League One side.”
The centre back was a regular for the Northern Premier League outfit last season but also spent time on trial with Championship side Sheffield United.
