Lincoln City’s board of directors have announced that agreement has been reached with Danny and Nicky Cowley that will see their contracts extended until May 2021.
The duo joined the Imps from Braintree Town in the summer, after leading the Iron to a remarkable third place finish in last season’s National League table.
That performance attracted interest from Football League clubs, but they chose to step up to full-time football with the Imps.
Since taking over they have produced a remarkable season so far, with the club sat top of the National League table and into the Third Round of the FA Cup.
On Saturday they came within minutes of securing a famous 2-1 win at SkyBet Championship club Ipswich Town, with a late goal from Tom Lawrence sent the tie into a replay.
That will be played on Tuesday, with the BBC cameras in attendance, in what will surely be the biggest night of the Cowleys’ managerial career.
They also take the next step on the FA Trophy trail this weekend, as they travel to National League rivals Gateshead in the second round of the competition.
“I am absolutely delighted to announce that we have secured the management team of Danny and Nicky Cowley for a further three years,” said chairman Bob Dorrian.
“We believe that this is a great day for the Club in terms of continuity and echoes the ambitions that Danny and Nicky also have for Lincoln City FC.”
