The Hartlepool Mail have reported that former Hartlepool United player and manager Craig Hignett is set to return to the club as director of football.
The move for the 48-year-old former Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers man would be part of Raj Singh’s proposed takeover, which is said to be moving at a pace. Suggestions are that Singh’s takeover could be completed by next weekend.
Both Singh and Hignett were present at Pools’ 3-3 draw with AFC Fylde in the Vanarama National League at the weekend.
