Cray Wanderers have been given the necessary approval for their proposed stadium project at Flamingo Park.

Just over a month ago, it was announced that the club’s planning application to build a new home ground at Flamingo Park had been approved by Bromley Council and referred to Mayor Sadiq Khan, who was then to be responsible for deciding its fate. Chairman Gary Hillman tweeted the good news last night:

Just had the best Phone call Ever !! Footballs coming home !! GLA have approved Flamingo Park Planning !! Cray Wanderers homeless since 1973 and now it’s coming home !!

The scheme is set to provide eight sporting pitches, a stadium, and a purpose-built community hub to benefit sports fans of all ages. It is the news all connected with the club have been hoping for, and a further boost with the team currently riding high at the top of the Bostik South East, some ten points clear at present.

The club say more news is set to follow on their stadium project in due course.
