Spennymoor Town’s crowdfunding campaign has now closed after the club raised enough money to refurbish seats in the Ramside Estates Main Stand at The Brewery Field.

Supporters and partners of the Club made donations through website ‘Crowdfunder’ and in person to Spennymoor Officials over a two month period and raised a total of £6,480.  Players, officials and the management team also donated to the total.

The seats have now been renovated and the stand walkways re-painted ready for Moors’ foray into the Vanarama National League North following their promotion on Saturday.  This has brought The Brewery Field up to the required ‘Grade C’ status for the league.

The Spennymoor Board expressed regular thanks throughout the campaign to those who contributed via its website and has reiterated its gratitude this week.
Mike Rowcroft, Director of Supporter Engagement, said: “It’s a fantastic show of support from those who contributed to the campaign and has reaffirmed our belief that we can continue to develop Spennymoor Town FC as a club with the help of our fans.

“We’ve had great support all season and now we’ve been promoted we’re expecting increased gate sizes and more activity at The Brewery Field next season.  So, refurbishing the seats was an essential first step on ground improvements, which we plan to continue over the summer.

More information will be released on these improvements as they are confirmed.

“I’d like to thank everyone who contributed once again and our Supporters’ Club for the assistance they gave us during the campaign.”

The Spennymoor Supporters’ Club was a significant contributor to the grand total and also helped out with a number of collections on match days.

Peter Dennis, Chairman of the Spennymoor Supporters’ Club, said: “Our club were pleased to be able to give £1,000 to the campaign for the seats, on top of a previous £2,000 we had donated for the new defibrillator and spinal board at The Brewery Field.

“We hope to be able to contribute even more in the future as we start life in the new league.”
