Neil Cugley admits things could scarcely be going better at the moment – but you won’t find the Folkestone manager taking anything for granted.

Invicta went three points clear at the top of Isthmian Premier with Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Bishop’s Stortford and remain unbeaten since March 23.

Their achievement resulted in Cugley being named as the top division’s manager-of-the-month for August, but the 62-year-old knows just how quickly things can change.

He said: “It (the award) shows that we’re doing things right at the club, but I’ve got good people around me who help and they deserve just as much credit.

“The players have done tremendously well and you have to take your hat off to them. They got on a roll at the end of last season and they’ve just carried it on, which isn’t always easy.”
