Ian Culverhouse’s new season plans have taken a step forward with the announcement that Michael Clunan, Kieran Shipp and Dylan Edge have all signed contracts with King’s Lynn Town, pledging their immediate futures to The Walks.
23-year-old midfield man Clunan has signed a 2 year contract, keeping him with the club until May 2019. Towards the end of last season he clearly relished the extra responsibility of being made captain whilst turning in some good performances under difficult circumstances.
18-year-old Shipp has also signed a 2 year contract, With an option of a 1 year extension, keeping him at Lynn until May 2019. The youngster has been a regular in the reserves for a couple of seasons but came to prominence in March when he was called into the first team following a series of serious injuries to senior players where he slotted well into a full back position.
19-year-old Edge has been awarded a 1 year deal, seeing him commit until May 2018, also with an option of a further years extension. Striker Edge suffered with injuries through most of last season but is clearly seen as one for the future after his early career goal scoring exploits.
Speaking exclusively to www.kltown.co.uk boss Culverhouse said “I am really pleased to get the three lads to commit to the football club. It’s a sign that they believe in what I want to achieve here and I’m happy they have bought into it. In my opinion Michael must be among some of the best ball playing midfielders in the league. He has an eye for a pass and will be a big player for us. Kieran stepped up last season and let no – one down.
He’s a confident lad who learns quickly and I am looking forward to working with him come July. Dylan can be a fox in the box, a goal poacher if you like, Like Kieran he is young and a touch raw but I’m confident he has a lot to offer this club’.
