It is down to York City players to give fans happy memories tonight at Bootham Crescent, believes Micky Cummins, on what could be a significant occasion.

The Minstermen welcome Hereford this evening (7.45pm) for potentially the last night league game at their home of 88 years as the move to the LNER Community Stadium sits on the horizon.

City still have a North Riding County FA Senior Cup quarter-final scheduled for an evening kick off on March 18 but – barring postponements or involvement in the National League North play-offs – this is the final evening league game in the fixture list.

For fans, it will be a sentimental day when the move from Bootham Crescent happens, as it will for Cummins and manager Steve Watson, the assistant added.

Cummins said: “Hopefully it won’t be as windy as the other day. The fans stuck by us and were fantastic throughout. Again, you’ll be getting numbers through the gate.”
