So, the curtain has finally come down on John Fisher’s tenure as Manager of Highworth Town, who along with assistant, Kevin Moloney, has decided to step down as First Team Manager.

John has been associated with the Hellenic League for many years, playing for Clanfield in the late 70s and also for Vickers and Supermarine. He has managed Supermarine, Swindon Athletic, Wollen Sports and also Highworth in two separate spells.

His success as a manager includes three Hellenic League titles with three different clubs, various cup competitions and he also guided Highworth to the FA Vase semi-finals where they lost over two legs to the eventual winners, North Shields.

It was very gracious of the Ardley United lads to form a guard of honour for Fish and Moey before their final game at the helm and we would also like to thank Norman Stacey, Chairman of Ardley United and Uhlsport Hellenic League Vice Chairman, for providing a most welcome gift as a parting gesture and a very entertaining impromptu speech in the clubhouse after the game.
