Curzon Ashton have announced the signing of defender Will Beesley from fellow National League North side Chorley.
Left-back Beesley, 23, started his career at Blackburn Rovers, featuring in their 2012 FA Youth Cup final against Chelsea, before moving on to National League outfit Southport. A loan spell to Chorley ensued in January 2016, where the defender proved a revelation, before injury cut the temporary switch short.
He returned to the Magpies the following summer after the deal was made permanent and has spent the past 18 months at Victory Park.
Gaffer John Flanagan, on the signing of the defender, commented: “We’re pleased to welcome Will to club. He’s a player that we’ve had our eye on for a while and has impressed since he started training with the squad.
“The stats that he has produced on the PlayerTek GPS tracking system have shown the exceptional qualities that he had in terms of his fitness and desire while also showing fantastic technical ability. He’s the right age and fits into our profile for player recruitment, so we felt we couldn’t turn down the opportunity to secure him for the remainder of the season, particularly with next season in mind.”
