Curzon Ashton have confirmed they will not be playing any more matches until a decision is reached over the current season.

The Nash join fellow National League North club Kettering Town in publicly stating that they will not be fulfilling any further fixtures until a resolution is reached, with safety of players and staff highlighted, and financial support now only available to clubs in the form of loans instead of grants.

This would mean that the Tameside club’s upcoming fixtures against Boston United (Saturday 6th February) and Hereford (Tuesday 9th February) are currently off.

A club statement says: “This evening, we have written to the National League to confirm that we will not be able to participate in fixtures until a decision is reached with regards to how the remainder of the season will be concluded.

“The safety of our players, staff, volunteers and directors is of primary concern, and until we are able to confirm how we can comply with current COVID-19 testing requirements for elite clubs, we do not want to put anyone at risk.”
