Curzon Ashton have wished all the best to two departing players, as Simon Woodford and Andy Watson head off for pastures new.
Both men joined the Nash in 2011 during manager John Flanagan’s debut season at the Tameside Stadium, and went on to be fine servants of the club.
Woodford scored arguably the most important goal in the club’s history during his time at Curzon, netting the only goal of the game in the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-off final against Ilkeston in 2015.
Watson is a firm fan favourite with the Nash faithful, as he assisted the club’s rise up two levels of football during his time at the Tameside Stadium.
Woodford is heading off to play the rest of the season on a dual registration deal, while Watson is signing for National League North rivals FC United.
Manager John Flanagan said: “I just want to say a thank you to them both for the fantastic loyalty, consistent high level of performance and commitment they’ve provided.
“They’ve both contributed massively to the success we’ve enjoyed at Curzon and I the have utmost respect for them as people and footballers.
“I wish them both the very best of luck wherever they choose to play and they will of course always be welcome at Curzon.”
