Darlington have agreed to extend the loan of defender Kevin Burgess to Whitby until the end of the season.

Burgess has expressed his delight at extending his second spell with a club he “loves” after agreeing to stay at the Turnbull Ground. The defender extended his loan stay after a string of full-blooded and impressive performances at the heart of the Blues’ defence.

Burgess has been an ever-present since initially rejoining in December, and is looking forward to continuing his second spell with the Seasiders.

“I’m more than happy to stay at the club for the rest of the season,” Burgess told whitby-town.com.

“I’m enjoying the second half of the season, playing and being back fit at a club that I’ve previously played for for around seven years. It’s a club I love and they’ve always looked after me as a player.

“I hope to keep putting in strong performances and giving 100%, as always, for Whitby Town.”
