Darlington have signed striker/attacking midfielder Sean Reid from Morpeth Town.
Reid, 27, played in the Northern League for Ryton and Newcastle Benfield until the start of the 2015/16 season, when he signed for Blyth Spartans, and he was part of the team that won promotion to the National League North two seasons ago.
He scored 66 goals in 186 games for Blyth before dropping down a league and joining Morpeth in the BetVictor NPL Premier during the summer.
Reid will be reunited with his old manager Alun Armstrong, who said: “Sean will give us just what we need. He’s tall, strong, good on the ball and will give us plenty of options, as he can play in different positions.”
Reid will be included in the squad for Saturday’s away league game at York, but he is unable to play in the Trophy for Darlo, as he has already appeared for Morpeth.
