Darlington have signed striker Andrew Nelson on a 28-day loan from Sunderland and right-sided player Alex Wollerton on loan from Leeds United for a month.

Nelson, 21, has made 29 appearances for the Black Cats in Premier League 2, having been with them for several years.

In season 2017-18, he had a loan spell at Harrogate Town, scoring once in four games, and then played 15 games on loan for Falkirk in the Scottish Championship, scoring four times. Several clubs were interested in taking him on loan during the summer before he suffered a toe injury that kept him out for four months.

Wollerton, 19, had a two year scholarship at Leeds before signing a professional contract in June last year. He has experience with Leeds’ Under 18 and Under 23 sides.
