Steve King told Dartford players to get real after shutting down play-off talk.
Darts have taken eight points from four league games under King, scoring twice in the last few minutes to draw with Kent rivals Maidstone on Saturday.
They’re 14th in National League South but it’s been a promising start for the new manager and one that has not only fuelled expectations on the terraces.
King said: “Two wins, two draws, eight points from 12 – I’d have taken that all day long.
“It’s difficult because one of the boys said in the dressing room, ‘gaffer, we’re six points off the play-offs with a game in hand’ and I’m like, ‘let’s just get real for one minute.’”
