The Evo-Stik League have announced that Daventry Town have resigned from their First Division South division.
The club have had a turbulent time of late, with the cancellation of fixtures and the resignation of manager Darran Forster.
The league broke the news on Wednesday lunchtime and also confirmed the club’s request to be placed in step six of the National league system next season.
A league statement read “The League can confirm that a Letter of Resignation has been received from Daventry Town FC and has been accepted by the Board of Directors.
The Club have requested to be placed at Step 6 of the National League System, by the Football Association for Season 2016/2017.
In accordance with the Regulations, Daventry Town FC will assume the bottom relegation positon of The Evo-Stik First Division South at the end of the current season”
