Andy Davies has urged Wrexham to win at Leyton Orient to set up a potential winner-takes-all clash with AFC Fylde on the final day of the season.
Wrexham’s stuttering promotion challenge took another huge blow on Saturday after losing 2-1 at home to Dagenham and Redbridge but the Reds remain in the final play-off position. Dover and Ebbsfleet would climb above Wrexham if they won their games in hand, but the competition for a top seven finish is fierce with the Reds only four points behind Sutton who are third.
Wrexham visit Leyton Orient on Saturday in their penultimate match and Davies is targeting three points ahead of what could be a final day shoot-out against fifth placed Fylde at The Racecourse for a play-off spot.
“We are still in there, everybody seems to be matching each others results,” said Davies. “We have got two games left. Leyton Orient away, three points and that sets up the last game of the season which could be winner-takes-all.
“Other teams are going to drop points because there are going to be ups and downs, we have got to make sure we are in there and remain positive which we will be going down to Leyton Orient.
“There are a lot of big games to go, teams have got to play each other around us so for us it is about making sure we get something from that game and take it to the last game of the season against Fylde.”
