Midfielder Jed Davies today became the latest member of our 2016/17 squad to extend his Tamworth career.

Davies made a total of 33 appearances in all competitions last season, including starting on 21 occasions. He scored on four occasions, including a goal of the season contender at home against Bradford Park Avenue, chipping the ‘Keeper from outside the box.

Davies spent his formative years within Chasetown’s Academy set up, and had also featured for the likes of Romulus before joining us towards the end of the 2014/15 season.

On Davies contract extension, Andy Morrell had the following to say. “Jed has been part of the group for a couple of seasons now, and continues to improve. We feel that he’s learning the other side of the game, and becoming more effective out of possession, and more reliable in terms of his overall performance as a result.”

Morrell continued “I think this is a big season for him. He has started to establish himself at this level, but we feel he could kick on again, and get to where his ability suggests he deserves to be.”
