Nantwich Town chairman, Tony Davison will be standing down from the board at the AGM planned later this month.

This is as a result of him shortly taking up a position as director at Crewe Alexandra as part of the ongoing restructuring currently underway at The Alexandra Stadium.

Commenting on the move, Davison told the club’s website: “I have greatly enjoyed my time at Nantwich Town FC but when the opportunity to be involved in the brand-new era at Crewe Alex came along, I realised that this was something that might never happen again in my lifetime, so I had to seize it. It is a hugely exciting time to get involved as The Alex enters this new era.

“After five years as chairman at Nantwich Town, the time is right to move on. It has been a great time for the club, with two Northern Premier League play-offs, reaching the FA Cup first round twice and an FA Trophy semi-final, not forgetting back-to-back Cheshire Senior Cup wins; the most successful period in the club’s long history.”
