Grimsby Town have confirmed the resignation from the club’s board of Philip Day.
Day had a recent spell as chairman, stepping in last May, and was announced last week as being set to stay on to assist with the changeover following 1878 Partners’ takeover of the club from John Fenty.
New chairman Jason Stockwood told the club’s website:
“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Philip for his long service to the club. On a personal note, Andrew (Pettit) and I would like to thank him for playing a significant role in ensuring the recent transaction went smoothly.
“We wish him and his family well for the future and he will always be welcome at Blundell Park.”
