It’s back to Uhlsport Hellenic league action for Kidlington travelling the short distance to play Ardley United on Saturday afternoon.
They will be up against a rejuvenated Ardley team who before their very recent reverses went on a run of one defeat in eleven games played. Ardley’s last 3 games have seen them lose narrowly against both Flackwell Heath and Thame before suffering a 3 – 0 defeat to Oxford United last night in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup.
On Tuesday night Kidlington had a narrow 1 – 0 victory away to Thame United in the same competition. Anaclet Odhiambo scored our goal after some great work by Jack Quainton.
Martin Wilkinson and his management team have been busy recruiting extra players to help us in the run in to the season. They have signed Jimmy Deabill from Evo-Stik Southern League side Wantage Town, transferring to them in December from Evo-Stik Southern Didcot Town. Deabill is no stranger to Kidlington, a local lad and has played for the club before.
Jimmy is a central striker and a larger than life character who fit perfectly into the squad, he is unavailable this Saturday but will be in the squad for our home game with Royal Wootton Bassett next weekend. Another new recruit is Dan Gardner.
Dan was with us last season but as a forces lad he had been posted to the Falklands, he’s back now and Wilkinson was quick to sign him back on. Dan is a wide midfielder, predominately right sided but equally at home on the left.
