Deal Town will have a new goalkeeper between the posts for tonight’s league game at K Sports.

With James Tonkin unavailable for the game, and also for Saturday’s home match with AFC Croydon, Deal have signed Joe Mant on loan from SCEL Division 1 side Kennington.

After completing their third league double of the season in their last match against Hollands & Blair, the Hoops will be looking to add another one to that list tonight. Derek Hares’ side have in fact already beaten the Paperboys twice this season, winning 4-1 at Cobdown in an FA Vase second qualifying round tie in early September and then following that up the following weekend by defeating K Sports 2-1 at home in the league.

Although the Hoops didn’t have a match last weekend K Sports were in action and they suffered their third successive league defeat, going down 3-0 at Lordswood, and they have now slipped to 12th place in the table having been in 7th position little over a month ago.

Deal for their part know that three points tonight could lift them back into 7th, depending on how Lordswood get on against Rusthall tonight.
