Altrincham have announced that goalkeeper Tim Deasy is heading back to The J.Davidson Stadium after leaving National League side Guiseley AFC and agreeing to re-join The Robins.

The popular ex-Alty keeper asked to be released from his Guiseley contract, due to the amount of travelling involved and, once the West Yorkshire club gave their consent, he was welcomed back for a second stint at The J.Davidson Stadium.

One of many players released under cut-back measures in the wake of relegation from the National League last season, Deasy will be available for Saturday’s home game with Stockport County.

Altrincham chairman Grahame Rowley said: “Tim lives in Manchester, and the travelling to Guiseley was becoming something of a problem.

“He trained with us on Thursday night, and it took him 6 minutes to get there. Last Tuesday, it took him two-and-a-half hours to get to training at Guiseley.

“Fair play to Guiseley, they took on board the difficulties Tim was encountering and agreed to cancel his contract. He is delighted to be back with us, and we are delighted to have him”.
