Chief executive John Croot has thanked Chesterfield supporters for their patience and understanding following the suspension of ticket sales for the first two home fixtures of the season.
The decision was taken to suspend sales following the announcement on Tuesday that plans to welcome back supporters to stadiums in England next month would be put on hold.
Commenting on the development, Croot said: “It is unfortunate that we had to to suspend sales, but we were left with no choice following the news which came out this morning.
“It is desperately disappointing as we were all looking forward to welcoming fans back to the Technique Stadium as they are a vitally important part of the game. I also know how important football is to the local community.”
