Worthing FC defender Corey Heath has informed the club he will not be renewing his contract this summer and intends to leave the club.

Heath informed manager Gary Elphick on Sunday before taking to Twitter to explain his decision: “I’d just like to thank everyone at Worthing FC for the past 3 years. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club, met some great people along the way and I’ll leaving with many memories. I just feel now is the right time to move on”.worthing fc

He also thanked the club’s supporters: “Also, special thanks to the away boys and all the fans, they’ve been superb since day one. Best of luck for the future”.

The defender joined the club from Chichester and made his debut at home to Leatherhead in January 2014.

He enjoyed a marvellous campaign in 2015/16 helping the club to promotion from Ryman League Division One South, in the process picking up both Players’ and Manager’s Player of the Season as reward for his commanding displays.

He also scored in winning penalty shoot-outs over Whitehawk (Sussex Senior Cup semi-final) and more dramatically, the winning kick in a FA Cup replay with St. Neots Town but only scored a single goal in his three years at Woodside Road.

He leaves the club with over 150 appearances to his name.
